Hot Hot Hot!

by Laura Ellis

So temperatures are set to soar this weekend, and after a lull in the heat this week, it's going to be a welcome change. But you can't go far without talk of the coming "ola de calor", so what to do to combat this crazy weather??

For me, of course, the answer is ice cream, a crucial part of any diet when it's this hot, avoid the melty chocolate messes and stick to cool and refreshing treats, and plenty of water.. Fruit won't go amiss either, and watermelon has become a firm favourite of mine, even if it is a little sticky!

The ideal option, hit the pool! Salamanca at least is full of options whether it be for a quick paddle or a leisurely swim, and many are coupled with cafes and sunbathing areas to relax in. Much better than hiding away at home, and added tanning time without the fear of overheating! Just remember that suncream…

And well, if you're not a fan of the heat, then the Cathedral is cool option, with plenty of shade surrounding it, maybe this is the chance to make that long awaited visit to the old part in an escape from crazy crazy temperatures?

¡Have fun whatever you decide to do!
