Machu Picchu is a pre-Columbian city that was created by the Inca in the 15th century. Forgotten for centuries by everyone but the locals, the city remained 'lost' for over three centuries until it was brought back to international attention in 1911.

El dia de los muertos (day of the dead) is celebrated on November 1st, throughout Mexico with variations seen in other Latin American countries and other parts of the world.

Last week we had Pedro, the director of our Spanish school in Guanajuato, visiting us here in Salamanca. He told us about don Quijote's beautiful school in Mexico, about the students (here is a picture), and about the volunteer programs.
