After so much hassle during our car trip from Madrid to Salamanca, myself, Mum and Austin spent four relaxing days in this city, trying to fit in everything Salamanca has to offer.

The main difference between a Spanish Christmas (Navidad) and many other versions is the importance of January 6th. In Spain, it’s on this day that children receive their presents, which are traditionally left by The Three Kings (Los Reyes Magos) rather than Father Christmas or Santa Claus.

You'll find in this article a
Calendar of Spanish christmas celebrations and some vocabulary (in English and Spanish) related to Christmas.

After the two week course my Spanish has undoubtedly improved! In the final week we had a test on all we had covered. Although finding time to study can be somewhat difficult with the many activities on offer in Salamanca, I managed to get my certificate which now hangs proudly on my bedroom wall!

Here is a picture of my class, my classmates were from France, Turkey, England, Belgium, Germany and Holland. The one on the right was Maria, my teacher.
