Spanish actor Javier Bardem won an Oscar for his role in the film “No country for old men”.
Bardem's Oscar as supporting actor, is the 16th Oscar won a by a representative of Spanish cinema. Directors Pedro Almodóvar, José Luis Garci, Fernando Trueba and Luis Buñuel have already been awarded by Hollywood.

View Article  General Elections in Spain

Spaniards voted yesterday in the General Elections to choose their President and representatives in the Spanish Parliament.
Jose Luís Rodriguez Zapatero, current President of Spain, won the elections and will be in office for another 4 years in Spain.
Mr. Zapatero, leader of the Socialist Party (PSOE), obtained 169 seats in the Parliament, short of the 176 needed for an absolute parliamentary majority. His main opponent, Mariano Rajoy obtained 153 seats with the Popular Party (PP).
